Field Collection Standards

1. Purpose

Approved Field Operators collect data only in environments authorized for the assigned project, including approved workplaces, industrial sites, commercial environments, households, and public environments. Each mission defines the required tasks, scenes, locations, timing, participants, equipment, and technical conditions needed to support a customer-specific real-world dataset for AI training, evaluation, validation, benchmarking, or research.

This guide provides public operational standards. Compensation, data-use rights, consent, confidentiality, project-specific technical specifications, and other binding terms are defined in the applicable Field Operator Agreement, campaign terms, application acknowledgment, or mission instructions.

2. Approved Field Operators

Only operators approved by Origin Data Lab may perform assigned collection missions. Approval for one mission does not authorize unrelated recording or participation in another mission.

• Use only the approved operator account, application, device, and mission settings.
• Do not share accounts, credentials, devices, or mission access with another person.
• Do not claim to represent police, government, media, or any special legal authority.
• Follow the current mission instructions and report any technical, safety, or access problem.

3. Before Recording

• Read the full mission instructions before travel or capture begins.
• Confirm that the assigned location, work area, or route is authorized for the collection activity and that all required site access, participant consent, or operational permissions are in place.
• Check that all project-required cameras, wearable devices, sensors, mounts, batteries, storage, applications, GPS where applicable, and required permissions are ready.
• For vehicle-based collection, secure all recording equipment before the vehicle begins moving.
• Do not begin if weather, traffic, crowd conditions, civil disturbance, equipment failure, or local restrictions make responsible capture impracticable.

4. Allowed Collection Environments

Collect data only in environments approved by the assigned mission. Depending on project scope, these may include industrial workplaces, workshops, warehouses, commercial facilities, service environments, households, food-production settings, agricultural environments, roads, streets, transport areas, pedestrian environments, and other authorized real-world locations.

An environment is not automatically approved merely because the public can enter it. Follow mission boundaries, local restrictions, posted signs, and lawful instructions from authorized personnel.

5. Prohibited and Restricted Areas

Do not record in or toward:

• Private homes, residential interiors, bathrooms, changing rooms, or other private spaces.
• Hospitals, treatment areas, schools, childcare environments, or places centered on vulnerable persons.
• Police stations, military facilities, government security installations, courts, prisons, embassies, controlled airport areas, or other security-sensitive facilities.
• Private property or restricted industrial, commercial, transport, or government areas without explicit authorization.
• Locations displaying a valid no-recording restriction or where authorized personnel instruct recording to stop.
• Accident, emergency, medical-treatment, violent, or active law-enforcement scenes unless a mission has been specifically approved, lawfully reviewed, and subject to additional controls.

6. Privacy and Targeting Rules

Capture the overall environment rather than a specific person or vehicle. Incidental appearance in wide public-scene footage may occur, but intentional targeting is prohibited.

• Do not follow, track, provoke, confront, or repeatedly record a person or vehicle.
• Do not intentionally center or closely record a face, license plate, private conversation, identification document, phone screen, computer screen, or activity inside a private area.
• Do not record through windows, doors, fences, or other barriers into private spaces.
• Where a person clearly objects and stopping is safe and legally appropriate, stop recording and move away calmly.

7. Children and Vulnerable Individuals

Do not intentionally center, follow, closely record, or stage footage involving children, patients, injured persons, distressed individuals, homeless persons, or other vulnerable people.

Incidental appearance in a general public scene does not by itself make the recording prohibited. Operators must use responsible framing, avoid close-ups, and stop or reposition when a vulnerable individual becomes the primary subject.

8. Recording Standards

• Use landscape orientation unless the mission expressly states otherwise.
• Keep the camera stable, correctly positioned, and unobstructed.
• Do not use digital zoom, deliberate close-ups, visual filters, beauty effects, or artificial scene enhancements.
• Record continuously according to the mission instructions and avoid unnecessary pauses or application switching.
• Do not edit, trim, re-encode, compress, rename, or otherwise alter source recordings unless instructed by Origin Data Lab.
• Follow all mission-specific requirements for task or scene type, workflow, route where applicable, duration, timing, viewpoint, mounting position, sensor configuration, resolution, frame rate, synchronization, and other technical settings.

9. Vehicle Safety

Mandatory vehicle rules

• Never hold, operate, view, or adjust the recording device while driving or controlling a vehicle.
• Mount and secure the device before movement begins. The device and mount must not obstruct the driver's view or create a loose-object hazard.
• Do not stop in traffic, park illegally, make an unsafe turn, change route suddenly, or violate traffic rules to capture footage.
• Do not continue when the mount, vehicle, device, weather, road, or traffic condition becomes unsafe.
• A driver must focus on driving. Where adjustment is required, stop only in a lawful and safe location.

10. Pedestrian and On-Foot Safety

• Remain aware of traffic, vehicles, bicycles, animals, crowds, uneven surfaces, construction, and other hazards.
• Do not step into the road, block pedestrians, stand in a dangerous position, or look continuously at the screen while walking.
• Avoid isolated or unsafe areas, especially after dark, and follow mission-specific working arrangements.
• Do not enter crowds, protests, civil disturbances, emergency scenes, or confrontational situations to obtain footage.
• Leave immediately if theft, hostility, weather, animals, crowd movement, or another hazard creates a safety concern.

11. Industrial, Workplace, and Food-Production Safety

Collection inside factories, workshops, warehouses, commercial facilities, food-production environments, service locations, and other controlled workplaces must follow the host site's safety, access, hygiene, and operating requirements. Project instructions never override workplace safety rules.

• Follow all instructions from the authorized site manager, supervisor, safety officer, or project coordinator.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, protective footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, hair restraints, masks, or other site-required equipment.
• Do not enter restricted zones, machine operating areas, electrical enclosures, elevated work areas, or controlled production spaces without explicit authorization.
• Maintain a safe distance from moving machinery, cutting tools, hot surfaces, electrical equipment, chemicals, vehicles, robots, and other operational hazards.
• Cameras, wearable sensors, mounts, cables, and other collection equipment must not obstruct vision, movement, protective equipment, machine controls, emergency exits, or normal work procedures.
• Do not operate, modify, stop, start, reposition, or interfere with customer machinery, robotics systems, tools, electrical equipment, production controls, or other site equipment unless the assigned task explicitly requires it and authorized supervision is present.
• In food-production or hygiene-controlled environments, follow all applicable sanitation, protective clothing, hand-washing, contamination prevention, and equipment-cleanliness requirements.
• Stop collection immediately if the task, equipment, sensor setup, workplace condition, or recording requirement creates an unsafe situation or conflicts with site procedures.

12. Restricted and Sensitive Content

Do not intentionally capture or submit content centered on:

• Identification cards, passports, financial documents, private correspondence, private addresses, or account information.
• Medical treatment, nudity, sexual content, severe injury, deceased persons, violence, or disturbing content.
• Weapons, criminal activity, active police or military operations, protests, civil disturbance, or sensitive political activity.
• Private conversations, religious ceremonies, or other sensitive activities as the primary subject.
• Any scene that Origin Data Lab, an authorized person, or the assigned mission identifies as prohibited or requiring special approval.

13. Metadata, Data Integrity, and Application Security

The collection system may record project-authorized metadata such as GPS location or route information where applicable, timestamps, device information, application version, mission identifiers, sensor data, upload status, and validation results to support provenance, mission verification, quality review, security, and fraud prevention.

Data-integrity rules

• Do not fabricate, alter, conceal, or disable required GPS, timestamps, device information, sensor information, mission identifiers, or validation data.
• Do not upload old footage, duplicate footage, another person's footage, internet footage, staged events, or material captured outside the assigned mission.
• Do not edit, filter, re-encode, manipulate, or otherwise change recordings or metadata.
• Do not share operator accounts or use unauthorized, rooted, compromised, or unapproved devices.
• Report a lost device, compromised account, incorrect mission, upload error, or suspected data-integrity issue promptly.

14. Privacy Processing

Responsible capture is required at the source. Privacy processing supports but does not replace the targeting, location, safety, and sensitive-content rules in this guide.

Depending on project requirements, Origin Data Lab may apply face or license-plate detection, masking, blurring, filtering, exclusion, restriction, or human review. Not every recording is automatically or completely anonymized, and operators must not rely on later processing to justify prohibited capture.

15. Submission, Quality Review, Acceptance, and Compensation

Submission does not guarantee acceptance, inclusion in a dataset, or compensation. Origin Data Lab may use automated checks, technical validation, metadata analysis, human review, fraud controls, and operational records when assessing a delivery.

A recording may be rejected, restricted, removed, or treated as ineligible where it:

• Fails the assigned mission, quality, duration, format, device, metadata, or upload requirements.
• Contains prohibited, unsafe, unlawful, duplicate, manipulated, fabricated, incomplete, or unverifiable material.
• Was captured by an unauthorized person, with an unauthorized account or device, or outside the approved mission.
• Cannot be matched to reliable provenance, location, timing, operator, or mission information.

Compensation eligibility, payment amount, review timing, payment method, and any available review or dispute process are defined in the applicable Field Operator Agreement, campaign terms, or mission instructions. An operator must never repeat or continue unsafe collection merely to replace rejected data.

16. Stop Recording and Incident Reporting

Stop recording immediately and leave safely if:

• Police, security personnel, property staff, or another authorized person lawfully instructs you to stop.
• A person clearly objects and stopping is safe and legally appropriate.
• A crowd becomes hostile, threatening, or unstable.
• An accident, injury, emergency, medical event, violence, protest, or civil disturbance occurs nearby.
• You enter or approach a restricted location, private area, or prohibited scene.
• The device, mount, vehicle, weather, route, traffic, or environment becomes unsafe.
• You are unsure whether recording can continue safely and lawfully.

Do not argue, confront, continue secretly, or claim special authority. Move to a safe location and report the incident through the designated Origin Data Lab contact channel. Include the operator ID, mission ID, approximate time and location, and a short description. Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in the report.

17. Legal Compliance

Field Operators must comply with applicable local laws, lawful restrictions, posted rules, traffic requirements, and authorized instructions. Approval of a collection mission does not authorize trespass, unsafe conduct, unlawful recording, or any other prohibited activity.

Mission instructions do not override local law. If the law, location, permission, or safety condition is unclear, do not record or stop recording and report the issue.

18. Operator Acknowledgment and Separate Terms

By submitting a recording, an operator confirms only that the recording was captured by the operator during the assigned mission and that the operator followed this guide to the best of their knowledge.

Binding terms concerning data use, privacy, location and device processing, international handling, confidentiality, compensation, intellectual property, commercial delivery, and operator obligations are set out separately in the applicable Field Operator Agreement, campaign terms, application acknowledgment, or other approved agreement.
